  • 2010-03-12 - Pre-convention workshops: Nia Technique and...

    Within the Stay Pilates convention it is possible to attend to new and interesting workshops. On Friday May 28th, from 3 to 7 pm, a workshop on NIA Technique will be held by Letizia Accinelli, unique Black Belt in Italy.

    NIA is a well-being fitness and lifestyle practice. It is the first and foremost 'fusion fitness' program of its kind, inspired by three art forms: the dance arts - jazz, modern, Duncan; the healing arts -Yoga, the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, the Alexander Technique; and the martial arts - Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi. There are 52 moves in Nia based on the body’s way of moving and everybody can adapt the intensity level of each of the move according one’s fitness niveau.

  • 2010-03-12 - Aquacontrology

    On Friday May 28th a workshop of Aquacontrology will be held by Piero Pigliapoco, swimming team coach, funcional rehabilitation worker and teacher for courses and workshops for the European Aquatic Association.

    Aquacontrology is a new water control program inspired by the Pilates method. This program involves mainly the core stability of the body respecting physiology and articular biomechanics. Postures, rachids aligment and core pre-activation which are the basis of the technique; the work will be mainy in shallow water.

    Those who will register for the 2days convention will have the opportunity to choose a free NIA or Aquacontrology masterclass.

  • 2010-03-05 - The PMA certified exam in Italy

    For the first time Italy will host the certification exam of the Pilates Method Alliance, the international, not–for–profit, professional association dedicated to the teachings of Joseph H. and Clara Pilates. PMA's mission is to foster community, integrity, and respect for diversity; establish certification and continuing education standards; and promote the Pilates method of exercise.

    The PMA Certified exam will be held in English and Spanish on Friday 28th at 3 pm.
